Farmers Market Returns for Spring Season

The beloved Southgate Farmers Market returned for its spring season this weekend, drawing large crowds eager for fresh local produce and handmade goods. Over 40 vendors filled the town square with colorful displays of vegetables, fruits, baked goods, and artisan crafts.
Market manager Tom Sullivan said attendance exceeded expectations. "People are excited to get outside and support local farmers and artisans," he noted. "The energy was incredible."
New this year, the market features a prepared food section where vendors serve ready-to-eat meals using locally sourced ingredients. Live music performances will take place each Saturday, creating a festive atmosphere for shoppers.
The market runs every Saturday from 8 AM to 2 PM through October. Vendors accept cash, credit cards, and EBT/SNAP benefits. Special events including cooking demonstrations and children's activities are planned throughout the season.
